    Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, also known as MLB Medical College Jhansi, is a government medical college in Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1968 to improve healthcare services in the Bundelkhand region and to provide MBBS and postgraduate medical education. The idea of starting this medical college came from Dr. Sushila Nayar, the then Union Health Minister and Member of Parliament from Jhansi. She laid the foundation stone of the college on 16 December 1965 on the Jhansi-Kanpur road.

    The first batch of 50 MBBS students was admitted through LLRM Medical College Meerut in 1968. Later in 1971, the regular classes and administration started at the Jhansi campus, and Professor S.R. Kapoor became the first principal of the college.

    MLB Medical College has one of the largest medical college campuses in India, covering about 380 acres. The college has three main blocks – teaching and administrative block, hospital block, and residential block. The hospital attached to the college provides medical services to patients from Bundelkhand and nearby districts of Madhya Pradesh. It has modern facilities including 24 new private wards, a burn unit, and a separate oncology wing.
