Admission Process
MBBS Admission Process at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

Step 1: Appear for NEET-UG
- Candidates must register for NEET-UG on the NTA (National Testing Agency) website and appear for the exam.
- NEET-UG is usually conducted in May every year.
Step 2: Check NEET-UG Results
- NTA releases the NEET-UG results and cutoff marks.
- Candidates meeting the cutoff are eligible for counseling.
Step 3: Register for MCC Counselling
- Candidates must register for MCC AIQ Counselling at https://mcc.nic.in.
- Choice filling and locking should include JNMC, Aligarh.
Step 4: Seat Allotment & Counselling
- 50% of seats are filled through All India Quota (AIQ) counselling.
- 50% of seats are reserved for AMU Internal candidates (students who studied in AMU schools).
- Seat allotment is on the basis of NEET rank, choice preference, and reservation criteria.
Step 5: Reporting to JNMC for Admission
- Candidates allotted a seat must report to JNMC, for document verification and fee payment

Round-wise Counseling Process for JNMC (AMU) via MCC
Round 1)
Step 1: Online Registration
- Visit www.mcc.nic.in and register for counseling.
- Choose AMU (Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College) as a preferred college.
- Pay the registration fee (₹1,000 for General, ₹500 for SC/ST/OBC, ₹5,000 for NRI quota).
Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking
- Fill choices for JNMC under AIQ, AMU Internal Quota, or Open Quota.

Step 3: Seat Allotment Result

Step 5: Upgradation Option
- If you want a better seat, you can opt for Round 2 upgradation while securing your current seat.

If you were not allotted a seat in Round 1, or you want to upgrade, you can participate in Round 2.
Step 1: Fresh Registration (for new candidates only)
- Those who did not register in Round 1 can register afresh.
Step 2: Modify Choice Filling
- Candidates can edit their choices for JNMC and other colleges.
Step 3: Round 2 Seat Allotment
- MCC announces Round 2 seat allotment results.
Step 4: Reporting to JNMC
- If allotted, candidates must report to JNMC and complete admission.
Step 5: Upgradation for Mop-Up Round
- Candidates who still wish for better seats can opt for the Mop-Up round.
Mop-Up Round
If seats remain vacant after Round 2, MCC conducts a Mop-Up Round.
Step 1: Fresh Registration (for new candidates)
- Candidates who did not register earlier can register now.
Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking
- Candidates fill fresh choices for JNMC or other colleges.
Step 3: Mop-Up Round Allotment
- MCC releases Mop-Up round allotment results.
Step 4: Reporting & Admission at JNMC
- If allotted, report to JNMC and finalize admission.
- If a candidate does not join, they may lose their security deposit.
Stray Vacancy Round (Final Round)
If any seats remain vacant after the Mop-Up Round, a Stray Vacancy Round is conducted:
- MCC gives a list of vacant seats to JNMC.
- JNMC directly fills these seats from registered candidates.
- Candidates must physically report to JNMC for admission.
