    Counselling Journey

The NEET PG counselling process can feel overwhelming, especially if you're going through it for the first time. Understanding what happens at each stage helps you stay prepared and make informed decisions that can impact your entire medical career.

The most critical aspects of counselling are:

    1. Choice filling - Many candidates make the mistake of filling out too few choices or not researching colleges properly before locking in their preferences. It's recommended to fill as many choices as possible, prioritizing them carefully based on your career goals, location preferences, and realistic rank expectations.
    💡
Remember, you can always reject a seat you don't want, but you can't get a seat you didn't choose.

    2. Document verification is another crucial step that candidates often underestimate. Missing or incorrect documents can lead to disqualification, even if you've secured a good rank.

Start gathering your certificates, getting them attested, and ensuring they meet the specified requirements well before counselling begins. Keep both physical and digital copies organized and easily accessible.

    1. The reporting process after seat allotment is time-sensitive. Once you're allocated a seat, you typically have only a few days to report to the college with original documents and pay the required fees. Missing this deadline means losing your seat, which then goes to the next candidate in line. Plan your travel and documentation in advance to avoid last-minute complications.

Understanding these nuances of the counselling process is just as important as your NEET PG rank. Being well-prepared can help you navigate the system smoothly and secure the best possible outcome for your postgraduate medical education.

    Counselling Process

The process is sequential, starting with registration and ending with admission:

Step 1: Register on the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website using your NEET PG roll number and other details.

Step 2: After submitting your application, you will get some time to check and correct any mistakes in your application form.

Step 3: Fill in your college choices and lock them before the deadline.

Step 4: Seats will be allotted based on your NEET PG rank, category, and the choices you selected.

Step 5: If you get a seat, pay the fees online. You also need to choose whether you want to freeze your seat, float to the next round, or slide to a better option.

Step 6: Go to the designated KEA document verification center with all your original documents for verification.

Step 7: Once your documents are verified, report to your allotted college with all required documents to complete the admission process.
