The Government Medical College Talcher (also known as Pabitra Mohan Pradhan), which is located on the campus of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), was established in Odisha. Initially, this college was established as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility project by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) to compile the entire infrastructure for the establishment of this college, however since then, the state government assumed control of the medical college, establishing it as a government run medical college [with all facilities and stability].

The Building of the Medical institute along with a 500 bedded hospital became ready around mid 2018. Following all the completion of all legally required paperwork and inspections, the College was able to apply for MBBS admissions (100 seats) for students commencing in academic year 2025–26.
