    Overview

The VMGMC Medical School is recognized by the State Government of Maharashtra as a leading medical educational institution. Dr. Vishnu Ganesh Vaishampayan founded the Medical College in 1963 to serve the medical needs of the high labor demand population within the Solapur District and to better equip the physicians with a degree from a recognized university so that he/she could practice medicine and/or provide medical care to this population of workers.
