The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, was approved in February 2009 as part of the second phase of the Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with a budget of Rs. 823 crore. The State Government decided to give 148 acres of land. A notice was published on August 13, 2013, to set up the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Rae Bareli. In July 2013, the Uttar Pradesh Government handed over 97 acres of land from the accepted total of 148 acres to the Central Government for building AIIMS Rae Bareli. The State Government is currently working on acquiring the last 51 acres of land, which should be available soon. The Ministry hired HSCC (India) Ltd as the project management expert in July 2013.  

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOH&FW) has selected Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh as the mentor Institute for AIIMS, Raebareli. The Director, PGIMER has been given added task of Director, AIIMS, Raebareli.All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raebareli was created as autonomous school and institute of National importance through the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, passed in 2013.

Admission Process

Admission process of the AIIMS Raebareli follows a structured procedure for selection for MBBS, it is based on the scores of NEET UG exam, students who clear the cut-off set by the college are called for the counselling round.

Eligibility:

• NEET UG Qualification based on the qualifying cut–off.
• Candidates must have passed 12th/H.S.C with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, chemistry, biology (zoology and Botany).
• Candidates from the reserved category and reserved PwD Category must have a minimum of 40% marks in Physics, chemistry, biology (zoology and Botany), and PwD General must have scored 45%.
• Candidates has attained the age of 17 as of December 2024.

The cut-off for AIIMS Raebareli varies every year depending on number of participants, difficulty level of the exam and the total number of seats available.

• Choose Your Preferences: You will see a list of AIIMS institutions where you can apply for the MBBS course. Rank your preferences from most preferred to least preferred. You can add, delete, or reorder the choices as needed.
• Save and Lock Your Choices: Once you’ve finalizing your choices, lock-in your preferences and submit them. This step is crucial, as once the choices are locked, they cannot be changed.

Step 3: Seat Allotment Results

After the preference submission, the MCC will process the seat allotment results. These results will be released after each round of counselling.

Here’s what happens in this step:

• Seat Allotment Based on Merit and Preferences: The seat allotment is done based on your NEET 2024 rank, the choices you’ve selected, and the availability of seats at the institutions you’ve chosen.
• Result Notification: Once the seat allotment results are released, you will be notified via the counselling portal. You can also check the results by logging into your account.

Note: There may be multiple rounds of allotment, so even if you are not allotted a seat in the first round, you can still be considered in subsequent rounds. If you are satisfied with the seat allotted, you can proceed to the next step.
