Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to the MBBS program at AIIMS, Gorakhpur, candidates must meet certain criteria. Here's the breakdown:

1. Age Limit:

• The candidate must have attained the age of 17 years as of 31st December of the year of admission.

2. Educational Qualifications:

• The candidate must have passed the 12th-grade (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as subjects.
• The minimum qualifying marks in the 12th grade must be as follows:
  • General category: At least 60% aggregate marks.
  • OBC/EWS category: At least 60% aggregate marks.
  • SC/ST category: At least 50% aggregate marks.
  • PwD category: At least 50% aggregate marks.

3. Nationality:

• The candidate must be a citizen of India, a citizen of Nepal, a citizen of Bhutan, or an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholder.
• NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) can also apply under the respective category.

4. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test):

• AIIMS used to conduct its entrance exam (AIIMS MBBS), but now admission to AIIMS MBBS is based on NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) scores.
• Candidates need to qualify for NEET UG and meet the cut-off set by AIIMS for that academic year.

5. Medical Fitness:

• Candidates must also meet the medical fitness criteria set by AIIMS.

6. Reserved Category Considerations:

• SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates must provide the necessary certificates to avail of the reservation benefits.

Counselling Process Overview:

The counselling process consists of multiple rounds; for AIIMS Gorakhpur, you’ll need to follow the steps outlined below:

Round 1: Seat Allotment and Reporting

1. Registration:

• Candidates need to register on the official MCC portal to participate in the counselling process.
• Candidates must fill in their personal details, NEET score, and preferred colleges in the registration form.

2. Choice Filling and Locking:

• After registration, candidates can choose their preferred courses and colleges.

3. Seat Allotment:

• The MCC will conduct a centralized seat allotment based on candidates' ranks, preferences, and the available seats.
• The result of Round 1 will be published, showing the seat allocation for each candidate.

4. Document Verification:

• After the seat allotment, candidates must report to the allotted AIIMS Gorakhpur for document verification. 

5. Admission Fee Payment:

• Candidates need to pay the admission fees, either via Demand Draft or UPI transfer.

6. Medical Examination:

• As part of the reporting process, candidates will undergo a medical examination at AIIMS Gorakhpur to ensure they meet the health requirements for admission.

7. Confirmation of Admission:

• After document verification and medical examination, if everything is in order, the admission will be confirmed.
• The candidates will be admitted to the MBBS course at AIIMS Gorakhpur for the first year.

8. Failure to Report:

• If a candidate fails to report on the specified date for Round 1, their seat will be cancelled, and they will not be considered for further rounds.

Round 2: Final Seat Allotment and Reporting

1. Fresh Registration and Choice Filling (if applicable):

• Round 2 will begin with another round of registration and choice filling if the candidate did not accept the seat in Round 1 or if they want to change their preferences.
• Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 but did not confirm or report will be excluded from further rounds unless they take action during Round 2.

2. Seat Allotment:

• A second round of seat allotment will be conducted based on remaining vacancies after Round 1.
• Candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 1 but had filled choices will be considered in Round 2.

3. Document Verification (for newly allotted seats in Round 2):

• Candidates who are allotted seats in Round 2 need to report to the respective AIIMS campus for document verification.
• Reporting is mandatory within the given timeline, and candidates must bring all the required documents for verification.

4. Medical Examination:

• As with Round 1, candidates allotted seats in Round 2 will undergo a medical examination to ensure eligibility for admission.

5. Admission Fee Payment:

• Candidates must pay the admission fee and submit the required documents, including a final seat allotment letter.

6. Seat Confirmation:

• Candidates who report and meet all the necessary criteria will have their admission confirmed in the MBBS program at AIIMS Gorakhpur.

Additional Notes on the Counseling Process:

1. Vacancy Management: If any seats are vacated due to a candidate not reporting or withdrawing after admission, those seats may be reallocated to other candidates during Round 2.
2. Upgradation: If a candidate accepts a seat in Round 1 but is later allotted a higher preference in Round 2, they can opt for seat upgradation. This means their seat in Round 1 will be cancelled, and they will be allotted a new seat in Round 2.
3. Mop-Up Round (if required):
   • If seats are still vacant after Round 2, a Mop-Up Round might be held for candidates who were not allotted a seat in the previous rounds.
   • Only eligible candidates (those who were not allotted a seat earlier or opted for a seat in earlier rounds) will be allowed to participate in this round.
