    Overview

The Uttarakhand NEET PG 2025 counselling procedure is currently in an important stage with the publication of an important notification concerning Round-1 seat surrender, withdrawal, and resignation. Such an announcement is especially important for those candidates who have got seat allotments in Round-1 and are thinking of joining further rounds of counselling or other admission processes.

The counselling authority has laid down time limits for surrendering a seat based on whether a candidate has joined a college allocated to them or not allocated to them after allotment. The time limits are strict and non-extendable. Failure to abide by them can result in the candidate permanently being ineligible for participation in subsequent rounds. Candidates are advised to read all these steps very accurately and make decisions accordingly.

Seat surrender in NEET PG Counselling:

The seat surrender in NEET PG Counselling is referred to as the voluntary surrender of a postgraduate medical seat allocated to a candidate within a stipulated time.

This is an important facility given to candidates so they can change their minds based on personal preferences.

In Uttarakhand NEET PG 2025, seat surrender is allowed under given circumstances in Round 1. The guidelines are different for candidates who have not yet joined their allotted college and for those candidates who have already reported in-person.

    Round-1 Seat Surrender Dates

The counselling authority has issued two different dates for surrendering seats in Round-1:

    Without joining the allotted college:

    Allowed till 15 December 2025, 05:00 PM

Following admission into the assigned college (physical reporting):

    Allowed till 17 December 2025, 05:00 PM

No candidate will be allowed to give up their seat in Round 1 after 17 December 2025, 05:00 PM.

    Seat Surrender Without Joining

Candidates allocated a seat in Round-1 but did not report to college come under this category. Such candidates might not want to join a college because of location or a particular department, expecting a better option in a subsequent round.

A candidate with these qualifications can opt to surrender their seat not later than 15th December 2025, 05:00 PM. Surrendering must be done within the given time frame in accordance with a process indicated by the counselling authority.

    Seat Surrender After Joining

To candidates who have already joined a college allocated to them through physical reporting, additional time is given to resign from their seat. This takes into consideration the fact that some candidates rethink their strategy when they join and want to continue with other rounds or admission opportunities.

In this case, surrendering a seat is permitted up to 17 December 2025, 05:00 PM. After this time limit, resignation will not be accepted, and this candidate will have to abide by the allotment.

    Deadline for Seat Surrender

The counselling authority has already clarified that 17 December 2025, 05:00 PM is the last date for all seat surrender activities in Round-1. No exceptions will be allowed after this date.

Applicants need to make sure all formalities in connection with withdrawal/resignation are fulfilled before the stipulated time to avoid technicalities in the last minute.
