Who Is This Counselling For?

This Round 1 counselling is meant for candidates seeking admission to Uttar Pradesh State Quota MDS seats through the state counselling process.

The official notice specifically mentions admissions to:

• Government Dental Colleges
• Private Dental Colleges
• Universities offering State Quota MDS seats in Uttar Pradesh

The schedule has been issued in continuation of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) timetable, but candidates participating in UP State Quota counselling must follow the DGME Uttar Pradesh schedule.

Admission Process

Step 1: Online Registration

Window: 21 August, 11:00 AM to 27 August, 11:00 AM

Every eligible candidate needs to log in on the department's website, upneet.gov.in, and register for counselling. This is your first and most basic step; without this, you can't move forward to any other stage.

Step 2: Registration Fee And Security Money

This is the part students often get confused about, so let's break it down clearly. There are actually two separate payments involved here, and they serve different purposes.

Registration Fee — ₹3,000. Every candidate has to pay a registration fee of ₹3,000 online. This fee is non-refundable, meaning you won't get it back under any circumstances, so be sure before you register.

Uttar Pradesh Counselling Security Money

Here's the important part: if you pay ₹1,00,000 as security money, you become eligible for BOTH government and private dental college seats. If you only pay ₹30,000, you're eligible for government sector seats alone, and won't be considered for private college seats at all.

So think about this before you pay. If there's even a chance you might want a private college seat as a backup, paying the higher security amount keeps that door open for you.

Both the registration fee and security money need to be paid within the same window, 21 August to 27 August. If you don't deposit the required security money, you won't be eligible to fill choices at all.

Step 3: Merit List

The merit list will be declared on 27 August 2026. This is prepared based on your NEET MDS 2026 performance, and it decides where you stand compared to other candidates for choice filling and seat allotment.

Step 4: Online Choice Filling

Window: 29 August, 5:00 PM to 1 September 2026, 5:00 PM

Once the merit list is out, you get to fill in your choices; basically, you rank the dental colleges you'd like to be considered for, in the order you prefer them.

Step 5: Seat Allotment Result

Your Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on 2 September 2026. This tells you whether you've been allotted a seat, and if so, which college and course.

Step 6: Allotment Letter Download And Admission

If you're allotted a seat, you get from 3 to 8 September to download your allotment letter and complete your admission process. This is a six-day window, but where you actually go to complete admission depends on which kind of seat you've been allotted:

Government sector seats — the admission process is completed at the respective university level.

Private sector seats — admission is completed at designated Nodal Centres, not directly at the private college. The list of these Nodal Centres is available in the official counselling brochure.

• BDS degree certificate and mark sheets for all professional years
