    Introduction

Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, has opened web options for the First Phase of Management Quota counselling for MBBS/BDS admissions in Telangana for the academic year 2026-27. This covers B and C/NRI Category seats in affiliated Private Medical and Dental Colleges, Army College of Dental Sciences, and Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences (affiliated to Anurag University).

If your name is on the Final Merit List released by KNRUHS on 9 September 2026, this is your window to enter your college and course preferences. Here's what you need to know before you log in.

Telangana Management Quota Round 1 Web Options Schedule 2026

    Activity Date & Time
Round 1 Web Options Begins 09 September 2026 at 5:30 PM
Last Date for Web Options 11 September 2026 at 4:00 PM

Who's Eligible To Exercise Web Options?

Only candidates whose names appear in the Final Merit List for Management Quota, published on the KNRUHS website on 9 September 2026, are eligible to take part in this round. You'll be considered only for the category or categories you originally registered for: B Category, C/NRI Category, or both. There's no option to add a category at this stage that you didn't register for earlier.

How To Exercise Your Web Options?

Step 1: Go to the web options portal

Step 2: Log in using your registered candidate credentials

Step 3: You'll receive a one-time password on your registered mobile number. This is a six-letter code using English capital letters (A to Z), not the usual numeric OTP, so don't expect a standard 6-digit code.

Step 4: Before entering choices, go through the Round 1 Seat Matrix and the Final Merit List carefully. Cross-check the colleges and courses you're eligible for.

Step 5: Enter your preferences for course, college, and category (B and C/NRI) in genuine order of priority. There's no cap on the number of choices you can enter; you can select as many courses and colleges as you're interested in and eligible for.

Step 6: Save your options and take a printout for your own records.

    University Fee

If you're allotted a seat, you'll need to pay the University fee online (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking) and download your allotment order before proceeding.

    Category Course University Fee
    B Category MBBS ₹1,00,000
    B Category BDS ₹40,000
    C Category/NRI MBBS ₹2,00,000
    C Category/NRI BDS ₹80,000

What If You're Applying Under B Category Reservation Rules?

If you're going for a B Category seat, it helps to know how the reservation split works. 85% of Management Quota B Category seats are reserved for local candidates of Telangana, while 15% are open to candidates from anywhere in the country. The 15% unreserved seats are allotted first, followed by the local-candidate reserved seats, so the order in which these get filled isn't random.

What If You're Applying Under C/NRI Category?

If you're allotted a seat under the NRI quota, you'll need to produce the original sponsorship letter from your NRI relative, along with a copy of the sponsor's passport, residence proof, and bank statement or passbook, at the respective college. Keep these documents ready in advance rather than scrambling for them after allotment.

Also worth knowing: Management Quota seats (both B and C/NRI) in Private Minority Medical Colleges are reserved for Muslim Minority candidates. Only if Muslim Minority candidates aren't available will these seats be opened to non-minority students, up to a maximum of 30%, and that too only during the final phase of counselling.

If you're applying for Army College of Dental Sciences, seats there are reserved for wards of Army personnel as per AWES regulations.

    After Allotment: What Happens Next?

Once seats are allotted, you'll get an SMS on your registered mobile number. You should also log in to the portal to check your allotment status after each phase, rather than relying only on the SMS.

    If allotted, you'll need to:

    1. Pay the University fee through the payment gateway and download your allotment order
    2. Report to the Principal of your allotted Medical/Dental College on or before the date mentioned on the allotment order
    3. Submit all original certificates and relevant bonds, and pay the tuition/college fee at the college directly

Final verification of your original certificates happens at the college. If any discrepancy is found, at this stage or even later, after admissions have closed, your provisional allotment can be cancelled, and further action may be initiated as per University regulations. This is worth taking seriously, especially if you're applying under the NRI quota, since the notification specifically states that the candidate, parent, or guardian will be held responsible for any wrong claim under this category.

A Word On Discontinuing The Course Later

If you join a course and then decide to discontinue after the second phase of counselling, you'll need to pay a discontinuation penalty of ₹20 lakhs to get your original certificates back. This is a significant amount, so it's worth being reasonably certain about your choice before you report and complete admission- not something to treat lightly.

    What To Do Right Now?

Log in and exercise your web options before 4:00 PM on 11 September 2026, ideally well before the deadline, not in the last hour.

Go through the Final Merit List and Seat Matrix carefully first, so your preferences are based on colleges and courses you're actually eligible for.

Enter your choices in genuine order of preference, and don't hesitate to list more options rather than fewer; there's no limit, and having more choices in a genuine order of priority gives you a better shot in the allotment process.

Take a printout of your saved options once submitted, for your own record.

If you're applying under NRI quota, get your sponsorship documents ready now rather than after allotment.

Don't skip this round if you're on the merit list, even if you're unsure; not exercising options here can cost you eligibility for later phases entirely.

    Documents You Should Keep Ready

    • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
    • Final Merit List confirmation of your name and rank
    • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates
    • Category/reservation certificates, if applicable
    • NRI sponsorship letter, sponsor's passport, residence proof, and bank statement/passbook, if applying under C/NRI category
    • A valid government photo ID
    • Recent passport-size photographs

    Conclusion

This First Phase of Management Quota web options is a round you don't want to sit out if your name is on the Final Merit List; the penalty for skipping it isn't a missed chance; it's exclusion from later phases altogether. Take the time to go through the seat matrix and merit list properly, enter your preferences in genuine order, and keep your documents, especially NRI sponsorship papers, if that applies to you, ready well in advance.

If you're unsure how to interpret the seat matrix, confused about B versus C/NRI category eligibility, or want help deciding how to order your preferences, reaching out to a trusted NEET counselling expert can help you make a more informed choice before the window closes.
