Punjab NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Counselling Schedule Released: Registration, Willingness & Important Dates

Step 1: Fresh Registration

If you're a brand-new candidate for Punjab counselling this round, register between 3 and 5 September, up to 5:00 PM. Already-registered candidates from Round 1 skip this step entirely.

Step 2: Giving Willingness

This applies to everyone who wants to be considered in Round 2, including candidates already registered from Round 1. Submission of consent/willingness is mandatory for participation; without it, you simply won't be part of this round's process, no matter your registration status.

If you were allotted a seat in Round 1 and want to try for an upgrade, you still need to submit this willingness. Your Round 1 security fee gets adjusted, and you'll pay the remaining tuition fee balance; no need to pay the security deposit again if you've already paid more than ₹10,000 (₹5,000 for SC/BC) for government colleges, or ₹2,00,000 for private universities/colleges.

Step 3: NRI And Sports Category

NRI Category candidates must submit their physical application form by 7 and 8 September 2026. The Eligibility Certificate Application Form and the Admission Application Form for NRI candidates are available separately on the university website; don't confuse these with the regular registration process.

Sports Category candidates need to submit two printed copies of their online application, along with the Sports Graduation Certificate issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab, and self-attested copies of supporting documents, all in person, at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot, and only on 7 September 2026. If you already applied under the Sports category but haven't submitted your hard copy yet, this is your one specific day to do it. Miss this, and your candidature won't be considered under the Sports Category Merit at all.

Step 4: Provisional Merit List And Objections

The Provisional Merit List, covering both fresh applicants and already-registered candidates who've given their Round 2 willingness, is displayed on 8 September.

If you spot an error, you can object, but only by 3:00 PM on 9 September, and just like Round 1, objections are accepted only through personal appearance at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot, with your relevant documents. No email, no online submission. A revised list, if needed, comes out the same day, 9 September.

Step 5: Choice Filling

Window: 8 to 10 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM

Here's something important to know if you're coming from Round 1: your Round 1 choices are treated as null and void. You must submit fresh choices/preferences for Round 2 — nothing carries over automatically.

Also note, once the choice-filling deadline passes, your choices are automatically locked. There's no manual locking step here, and BFUHS has been explicit that no request to change or accept modified choices after the deadline will be entertained. So make sure your list is exactly how you want it before 10 September, 5:00 PM.

Step 6: Seat Allotment And Result

Seat allotment is processed on 11-12 September, based on your merit, the choices you've filled, and applicable counselling rules. The Provisional Seat Allotment Result is displayed on 12 September.

Step 7: Objections To Allotment Result

If something in your allotment looks wrong, you have until 4:00 PM on 14 September to object, again, only through personal appearance at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot. The notice specifically states objections received through email will not be entertained. A revised result, if applicable, is displayed on 15 September.

Step 8: Fee Payment And Reporting

If you've been provisionally selected, you need to pay your balance fee, six months' fee, after adjusting your already-deposited Security Fee, through the university's online payment gateway, and then report to your allotted college to complete admission/joining formalities. This window runs from 16 to 18 September, up to 5:00 PM.

A separate note for Minority Quota candidates: you need to report to your respective Minority Institution for eligibility verification on 7 September 2026, a different date and process from the general schedule.

Registration And Security Fees

Who Is Eligible For Round 2 Allotment?

You fall into one of these groups:

• Group I — Registered candidates who didn't get any seat in Round 1
• Group II — Candidates whose Round 1 allotted seat got cancelled during document verification; they'll be considered with a changed category, subject to seat availability
• Group III — Candidates who reported at their allotted institute in Round 1 and gave "Yes" for upgradation
• Group IV — Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 but who didn't join
• Group V — Candidates who resigned online, within the time frame, from their Round 1 allotted seat

Who Is NOT Eligible?

• Candidates who became ineligible due to inadequate documents, as per the eligibility criteria under the Punjab Government/MCC-UG notification
• Candidates who never registered in either Round 1 or Round 2
