    Overview

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has announced an update regarding the Round III counselling in the Post Graduate Medical Admissions-2026. The revision follows new guidelines for the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) (Advt. No.- BCECEB(PGMAC)-2025/19).

Ensuring a seat in MD, MS, PGD, and DNB programs across the territory of the Bihar Government and private medical institutions is called the Post Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (PGMAC).

Round III is also known as the “Mop-up” round, which is designed to fill the leftover vacancies and seats opened due to the process of resignation. This round is important because it is associated with the Revised NEET(PG)-2025 results and the “WITHHELD” results of the candidates.

    Key Highlights

     * Inclusion of Withheld Candidates: For the candidates whose NEET(PG) results are withheld initially by the NBEMS, but now it has been released, all those candidates are now eligible for this.

     * Fresh Registration Opportunity: For the candidates who missed the opportunity to register themselves in the Round I and Round II, now have the opportunity to apply for the same.

     * Updated Seat Matrix: In this round, the seats were readjusted, and the addition of some new seats occurred due to the resignation process in phase II.

     * Choice Filling/Editing: The already registered candidates are now eligible to make changes in their previous choice due to the availability of new seats in this Round.

     * Mandatory Consent: The students who submitted their application but didn’t give their consent yet for this round must do so now.

    Schedule and Timeline

Timing is everything in medical counselling. Below is the updated timeline as per the February 12th notification:

    Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the Bihar PGMAC 2025 Round-3, candidates must satisfy the following conditions:

     * NEET PG 2025 Qualification: Candidates must have to qualify the NEET (PG)-2025 exam and match the required cutoff percentage set by the NBEMS.

     Specific Eligibility for Round-3:

       * Candidates whose earlier result of NEET (PG) was “Withheld” with NBEMS but have now been released by them.

       * For the candidates who missed the opportunity to register themselves in the Round I and Round II, now have the opportunity to apply for the same.

       * Registered candidates who have not yet been assigned a seat.

       * For the students who are looking for an upgrade in their current seats (depending on rules).

     * Domicile/Institutional Preference: For candidates who are seeking the specific Bihar state quota must have the domicile of Bihar State or institutional preference, as mentioned in the (Advt. No.2025/15).

    The Admission Process

While going through the BCECEB portal, one requires attention to details. Follow these steps to complete the process:

    Step 1: Online Registration

Go through the official website bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and select the link of “PGMAC-2026 Online Application”. New users must sign up with their NEET Roll Number and a valid mail id and phone number.

Step 2: Payment of Counselling Fee & Security Deposit

The candidate must pay the counselling fee (non-refundable) and the security deposit (refundable). A candidate without paying the security deposit will not be able to access the choice filling option. The amount of security varies from Government to Private colleges.

The already registered candidate must log in and select the “Consent for Round III”. This particular step is mandatory for participation.

Step 4: Choice Filling and Locking

The candidate must look for the latest seat matrix and select the preferred college and their specialities. Candidates must lock the choices manually; otherwise, the system will automatically lock the most recently saved preference.

Step 5: Rank Card & Allotment

After the release of the latest/updated rank card reflecting the current application pool by BCECEB, the official seat allotment result will be announced.

    Step 6: Document Verification
