| Primary Purpose | To conduct a final reconciliation of data between participating medical colleges and MCC to ensure an accurate national seat matrix before further counselling rounds. |
| Core Activity | Participating institutes verify and submit a final list of candidates who have reported, submitted documents, paid fees, and officially joined. |
| Key Stakeholders & Their Role |

Verification Process
Let me break down what actually happens during these two days:
Jan 12th-
Your college admins sit with their lists, checking who’s really there. Did you complete fees? Submit docs? Show up? Or did you just… ghost them? They make a master list. Simple.
Jan 13th Morning
Colleges upload everything to MCC’s portal. Now, we all know how that goes. Portals crash, internet slows—typical website issues. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly!
Jan 13th Afternoon
MCC matches college data with their own records. Think of it like a matchmaking round—but for students and seats. “Yep, this one’s taken. That one’s free.”
Jan 13th Evening
By evening, MCC knows exactly which seats are empty. Those become the new seats for Round 3. Game on!
Candidate Actions & Verification Result
| Your Status after Round 3 Reporting | What This Verification Phase Means for You | The Immediate Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| You Successfully Joined a College (Freeze/Float) | The institute verifies your name in their "Joined Candidates" list sent to MCC. Your seat becomes officially confirmed and locked. |
• Freeze: Your counselling is complete. Wait for orientation. • Float: You stay eligible for an upgrade while keeping your current seat. |
| You Were Allotted a Seat but DID NOT Report | You are marked as a "No Show" or "Not Joined" by the institute. | You lose the allotted seat and your security deposit. You become ineligible for further AIQ/Deemed counselling rounds. |
| You Resigned during Reporting | The college reports your seat as "Vacated" or "Resigned". | Your seat is returned to the vacant pool. You may get a partial refund as per MCC rules. |
| You Are Awaiting the Next Round | MCC uses this verification to calculate the exact number of vacant seats. | MCC will release the official verified seat matrix and schedule for the Mop-Up Round. |
Round 4 Brief Info
Round 4, officially known as the Stray Vacancy Round, is the final and last chance to secure a seat in the current counselling year.
Think of it as a cleanup round. It deals with the last few remaining seats that were left empty after all previous rounds, seats that became vacant due to last-minute resignations, candidates not reporting, or documentation issues.
This round has a unique rule: there is no new choice filling. The allotment is done automatically by the system based on your original choices from Round 1 and your merit rank. It is the final opportunity for eligible candidates to get a seat before the counselling process officially closes.
