The second step in this process is about choice filling and locking, and in this round, it will commence on Dec 9th and end on Dec 14th, 2025. Read on for a detailed look at this stage.
Key Highlights
| Aspect | Details |
|---|---|
| Official Window | Dec 27th-Dec 30th |
| Primary Purpose | To select and lock your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority for Round 3 seat allocation. |
| Core Activity |
Two critical steps: 1. Choice Filling: Browse available seats and add your preferred colleges in any order. 2. Choice Locking: Finalize your list by arranging preferences and clicking 'Lock Choices'. |
| Key Strategy |
- Fill ALL preferences: From your dream college to safe backup options. - Order matters: Higher preferences are considered first. - Locking is mandatory: Unlocked choices = No seat allocation. - No changes after locking: Your selection becomes final. |
| Why It Is Crucial | This directly determines your seat allocation. A well-planned list maximizes your chances of getting the best possible seat based on your rank. |

Choice Filling/Locking Process
Let's just first get the basics down.
Choice Filling is like creating your dream list of colleges and courses. You're telling the system "This is what I want, in this order."
Choice Locking is when you officially confirm your list. Once locked, there's no going back - no changes, no edits, nothing.

Step by Step Process
Login and Research
- Go to mcc.nic.in and login with your credentials
- Study the seat matrix carefully
- Make a list of colleges and courses you're interested in
Start Filling Choices
- Click on "Choice Filling" in your dashboard
- Start adding colleges in your order of preference
- Put your absolute dream college at the top
- Then add realistic options
- Finally, add some safe choices
Choice Locking Process
- Login between 4 PM and 11:55 PM
- Review your choices one last time
- Click "Lock Choices"
- Take a screenshot of the confirmation page
Results
So what's actually going to happen during these two days (15th-16th Dec 2025)? Well, MCC's list will start with the top-ranked student and give them their first available choice. Then it will move to the next student, and the next, and so on, and so forth.
It considers three things:
- Your NEET PG rank (obviously)
- Your category
- The order of choices you locked
Common Mistakes to Avoid
| Mistake | Why It's Bad | How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting until last minute | Server crashes, no time to think | Start early, lock by 8 PM |
| Filling too few choices | Lower chances of getting any seat | Fill maximum possible choices |
| Not having safe options | Risk of getting no seat | Include 5-10 safe choices |
| Forgetting to lock | All choices wasted | Set multiple alarms |
