    Eligibility Criteria

Curious about what the qualifiers even were to participate in this huge process? Well, you're in luck because here they are-

    • Have qualified NEET PG Current year, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE)
    • Have completed or are completing their MBBS internship by July 31st, 2025.
    • Possess a valid registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the respective State Medical Council

So if you meet the internal quota requirements for Central Universities if applying under such categories, then congratulations- you're eligible! Keep in mind, the respective universities decide what the criteria for eligibility should be for internal quotas, not MCC.

    What Happens During This Round

So, in the reporting phase you've got choices to make. You'll be given these 3 options and I'll list out for you exactly what each of them mean so you can make an informed decision that has no scope for regret later on.

    Option 1- Accept

This is the option where you say yes to your allotted seat at a college and you need to show up at the college with the required documents and pay the fees and complete any admission processes.

    Option 2- Upgrade

If you choose to upgrade, you're basically saying "I wanna see what else is out there". So you show up at the college and do the admission process like in option 1 but you also stay available for the next rounds upgrading to see if you can get a better seat at a different college.

    Option 3- Decline

If the seat allotted to you isn't sparking anything in you, then you can choose to officially decline the seat through the MCC Portal. In this case, you get your security fund that you had paid during the registration/payment process, refunded to you. This option doesn't entail you going through the admission process, obviously, but you do need to show up to file an official resignation claim and also get your refund. So when you are measuring your chances of getting a better seat in the next round, you're coming in with a clean slate.

    Table simplifying the Reporting Process-

Category of Candidate Mandatory Action Required Purpose of the Action
    1. Candidates getting a NEW seat in Round 2 (no seat in Round 1) Must REPORT to the newly allotted college. To accept/join the seat. Not reporting = seat forfeiture.
    2. Candidates UPGRADED in Round 2 (had lower-preference seat in Round 1) Must REPORT to the upgraded college. To accept the new seat. Previous seat is automatically released.
    3. Candidates wishing to EXIT (after a Round 2 allotment) Must REPORT to the allotted institute for resignation. To formally resign, get relieving letter, and claim partial security refund.

    Step by Step Reporting Process

It's extremely important that when showing up to the college aka reporting physically to the campus, you have exactly what they need. That includes the allotment letter (multiple copies of it), passport photos, payment methods for the fees- usually DDs, and all the original documents you had submitted during the previous stages of the process.

When you actually show up to the college, make sure to do so in comfortable shoes since queues tend to be long and have all your documents organized neatly in a file so you're not fumbling later. Directly head to admissions office and be on time!

    FAQs

What if I can't reach the college by Dec 4th?

Sorry, but MCC is strict about deadlines. Unless you have a genuine emergency (with proof), you'll likely lose the seat. Plan to reach well before the 4th!

Can I send someone else to report for me?

Nope! Most colleges require personal presence for biometric verification and document checking. You've got to be there in person.

What happens to my security fee if I take admission?

It gets adjusted against your tuition fees! You don't lose that money - it just becomes part of your college payment.

If I choose upgrade but don't get better in Round 3, can I stay in my current college?

Yes! That's the beauty of the upgrade option. Your current seat remains safe until you actively choose to leave it for a better one.
