    Introduction

Hey there, NEET candidates! The registration/payment round is scheduled to begin on 19th Nov and run up until the 24th of Nov. This round has the same 6-day span, but the process looks a little different from the first round.

It's basically the most crucial part - choice filling and locking. I know, I know, it sounds complicated, but trust me, it's not as scary as it seems. At NEET Support, having helped hundreds of students through this process, I can tell you that this is where you can really make a difference to your PG future.

Let's break it down together, step by step. No complicated words, no confusing terms - just plain, simple advice from someone who's been where you are right now.

    Eligibility Criteria

Now, what are the qualifications one would need to even partake in this whole process?

    • Have qualified NEET PG Current year, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE)
    • Have completed or are completing their MBBS internship by July 31st, 2025.
    • Possess a valid registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the respective State Medical Council

So if you meet the internal quota requirements for Central Universities if applying under such categories, then congratulations- you're eligible! Keep in mind, the eligibility for internal quotas is defined by the respective universities, not MCC.

Refer to this table for the cutoffs for 2025:

Category Minimum Eligibility Criteria 2025 Cutoff Score

How Choice Filling & Locking Works

Let's just first get the basics down.

Choice Filling is like creating your dream list of colleges and courses. You're telling the system "This is what I want, in this order."

Choice Locking is when you officially confirm your list. Once locked, there's no going back - no changes, no edits, nothing.

    Step-by-Step Process

Let me walk you through exactly what you need to do:

Login and Research (Do this early!)

    • Go to mcc.nic.in and login with your credentials
    • Study the seat matrix carefully
    • Make a list of colleges and courses you're interested in

Start Filling Choices (From Nov 19th)

    • Click on "Choice Filling" in your dashboard
    • Start adding colleges in your order of preference
    • Put your absolute dream college at the top
    • Then add realistic options
    • Finally, add some safe choices

Choice Locking Process (Nov 24th, 4 PM onwards)

    • Login between 4 PM and 11:55 PM
    • Review your choices one last time
    • Click "Lock Choices"
    • Take a screenshot of the confirmation page

    Choice Filling Strategy

Your choice filling strategy can make or break your chances. Here's what works:

    Type of ChoiceHow ManyExamples
    Dream choices10-15AIIMS, PGIMER top courses
Realistic choices20-30Good govt colleges, top private
    Safe choices10-15Lesser-known colleges, new institutes

    Pro Tips:

    • Research each college's fee structure before adding
    • Consider location and living expenses
    • Check hostel availability if needed
    • Talk to seniors about college reputation

    Seat Allotment Process

So what's actually going to happen during these two days (25th-26th Nov 2025)? Well, MCC's list will start with the top-ranked student and give them their first available choice. Then it will move to the next student, and the next, and so on, and so forth.

    It considers three things:

    • Your NEET PG rank (obviously)
    • Your category
    • The order of choices you locked

    Result Announcement

This is moment we've all been waiting for! When the results drop on 26th Nov, 2025, log in to see if you got a seat. If you did, celebrate, then get moving. You’ll need to download your allotment letter and physically report to the allotted college with all your original documents. Don’t be late, colleges won’t wait, and you don’t want to lose your seat because you missed the reporting window.

    • Avoid mobile phones for final locking

    If it's server problems:

    • Try during non-peak hours (early morning or late night)

    • Have a backup internet source ready

How do I make sure all my choices are saved?

To make sure all your work is saved, follow these steps-

    • Save your choices regularly
    • Take screenshots at every stage
    • Keep your application number handy

Should I include my Round 1 college in choices?

If you're upgrading and would prefer other colleges, you can put them higher than your current college.

Can I get a last minute checklist before submitting my choices?

-I have included top, realistic and safe choices
-I have checked the fee structure of private colleges
-I have considered location and other factors
-I am happy with the order of my choices
-I have taken a screenshot of the final choices
-I have saved my registration number and password

    Conclusion

Friends, I know this seems overwhelming right now, but you can do this. Remember - this is your chance to shape your medical career. Take your time, think carefully, and make choices that you'll be happy with.

The locking window may be small, but you have weeks to prepare for it. Use that time wisely. Research, discuss with mentors, talk to seniors, and create a list that makes sense for your career goals.

You've worked too hard to let stress ruin this for you. Take a deep breath, believe in yourself, and make those choices count!
