Latest Update:
The Provisional Result for Round-1 of MCC PG Counselling 2025 has been released and is now available on the official MCC portal.
Introduction
The moment we've all been waiting for finally arrived on November 8th - Result Day for MCC NEET PG Round 1. I know you were probably in that mix of excitement and "please don't let the website crash" anxiety, which, by the way, is completely normal!
After all the strategic choice-filling and choice-locking process, this was what the wait was ultimately for. Whether you were celebrating with your family or already planning for Round 2, understanding what happened on result day and what comes next is crucial. Let's go through the past few days in today's blog.

Here's where we are at in the Round 1 online counselling process as of now-

| Choice Filling / Locking | Nov 20, 2025 | Nov 21, 2025 |

| Verification of Joined Candidates’ Data by Institutes, Sharing of Data to MCC | Dec 2, 2025 | Dec 3, 2025 |

Eligibility Criteria
Curious about what the qualifiers even were to participate in this huge process? Well, you're in luck because here they are-
- Have qualified NEET PG Current year, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE)
- Have completed or are completing their MBBS internship by July 31st, 2025.
- Possess a valid registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the respective State Medical Council
So if you meet the internal quota requirements for Central Universities if applying under such categories, then congratulations- you're eligible! Keep in mind, the respective universities decide what the criteria for eligibility should be for internal quotas, not MCC.
What Happens After Result Announcement
This is when it's time to decide.
During the reporting period (Nov 9th- Nov 15th, 2025), you'll need to:
- Accept and Report - Physically go to the college with documents
- Accept for Upgrade - Keep the seat but try for better in Round 2
- Resign/Decline - Say no thanks and wait for next round
Key Point: You don't have to decide immediately on November 8th! You have the entire reporting window to make your choice.
Important Points
Here's the real talk section - pay attention!
Documents Needed:
You'll need every original document you can find. I'm talking:
- NEET PG admit card and rank letter issued by NBE
- MBBS mark sheets and degree certificate
- Internship completion certificate (or proof that it will be completed by 31st July, 2025.)
- Registration certificate from NMC or State Medical Council
- Date of birth proof (high school certificate or birth certificate)
- Valid government-issued ID (Aadhaar, PAN card, Passport, etc.)
- Caste, EWS, or PwD certificate (if applicable)
- NRI sponsorship documents (if applying under NRI quota)
- MCC allotment letter

Money Matters:
If you got a private college seat, your bank account is about to feel some pain. Government colleges are a little more affordable, but still - have those finances sorted ASAP!
Decision Time:
Choosing between accept, upgrade, or resign is like choosing your adventure. Each choice has consequences, so think it through. Don't make rash decisions when you're emotional - take your time if you need to!
Final Advice
Alright, here's what I wish someone had told me:
Remember The Bigger Picture:
However today went, remember this is just one round. I've seen students get nothing in Round 1 and their dream seat in Round 2. The counselling process has more twists than you'd expect!
Get Organized Now:
Make copies of everything. Save your allotment letter everywhere - phone, laptop, cloud, that USB drive you got free at a conference. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Do Your Homework:
If you got a seat, research your college immediately. Check their website for reporting dates, fee structure, hostel info. Don't be that person who shows up a week early!
Stay Calm and Carry On:
However you're feeling right now - excited, disappointed, confused - it's all valid. Take a breath. Call a friend. This is just one step in your amazing medical journey.
Note: This guide comes straight from the heart (and from someone who may have refreshed the MCC portal a few too many times). Whatever your result today, remember - you've got this! The medical community is waiting to welcome you, whichever path you take. Now go celebrate or regroup - you deserve it!

FAQs
I was so nervous I forgot to check my result until today - am I doomed?
Not at all! The results stay on the portal through the reporting period. But let's set an alarm next time.
Can I ask MCC to change my allotted seat? It's not exactly what I wanted...
Unfortunately, the computer has spoken, and it's not taking requests. Your options are accept, upgrade, or wait for the next round.
How long do I have to decide what to do?
Usually a few days - enough time to think it through but not enough to procrastinate. MCC will announce the exact dates.
If I choose upgrade but don't get anything better in Round 2, do I lose my current seat?
Nope! You keep your original seat unless you specifically get and accept an upgrade. It's like having insurance
What's MCC's contact information?
The MCC website states in its "Contact Us" section the following methods of getting in touch with the counselling authority-
