The Provisional Merit List for PG MD/MS/Diploma courses has also been released as of 29th Oct, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Visit the official website to view the new updates.

    Overview

NEET PG 2025 Aspirants - In an important new update for the Gujarat state counselling process, the Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC) has released the provisional merit lists for the 2025-26 academic session. This step determines your eligibility for the upcoming seat allotment rounds.

If you have registered for the Gujarat NEET PG counselling, you must immediately check your status across the various categories. This blog provides a clear breakdown of the released lists and your immediate action plan.

    Released Merit Lists

The following provisional merit lists are now available on the official ACPPGMEC website:

    What These Lists Mean

The publication of these lists is more than just an announcement; it's the foundation of the entire seat allotment process. Here’s what each list signifies:

    1. Category-wise Merit Lists (General, SC, ST, SEBC, EWS): These lists display your state merit rank within your specific category. Your position on this list is based off your NEET PG 2025 All India Rank (AIR) and the different reservation categories. This is the rank that will be used for state quota seat allocation.
    2. Provisional In-Service Merit List: This is a separate list for in-service government doctors, who are considered under a specific quota as per state rules.
    3. Provisional NRI Merit List & Application Status: This is important for NRI candidates. The committee has released:
      • The NRI Merit List itself, showing the ranking of eligible candidates.
      • The Status of NRI Applications, which clarifies the eligibility status of all applicants.
      • This allows NRI candidates to see if their application and documents have been accepted.
    4. The "Not Eligible Candidate List": This is perhaps the most critical list to check. If your name is on this list, it most likely means there is some mismatch between your application. You might even have a missing document. Immediate action is required to fix the problem.

    Action Plan

Check the lists now. Here's what to do-

Step 1: Check the Lists Thoroughly

    • Visit the official ACPPGMEC website: medadmgujarat.org
    • Navigate to the "NEET PG" section and find the links for the provisional merit lists. The above section also has direct links to the PDFs for each category; simply click on the hyperlink best suited for you.
    • Download the PDFs for your registered category and the General Merit List. Use either Ctrl+F/ Command+F to find your name, Roll Number, and Application ID.

    Step 2: Check Your Details

    • Once you find your name, double-check all details: Name, NEET PG Roll Number, Category, and your State Merit Rank.
    • Make sure there are no spelling mistakes or incorrect category classifications.

Step 3: If Your Name is on the Merit List

    • Congratulations! Your application has been accepted.
    • Note your State Merit Rank carefully. This rank will be your key during the choice-filling process.
    • Start researching colleges and courses based on your rank. Wait for the Seat Matrix to be published to begin formulating a solid choice-filling strategy.

Step 4: If You're on the "Not Eligible Candidate List"

    • Remain calm but act quickly.
    • Carefully read the provided reason for ineligibility.
    • The official notification states-
"If any candidate has any query/problem regarding the Provisional Merit List of ACPPGMEC–2025, the candidate has to submit the legible scanned copies of supportive documents via e-mail: medadmgujarat2018@gmail.com on or before 11.00 AM, 01st November, 2025. Please mention the USER ID & NAME whenever you do communicate with ACPPGMEC."

Step 5: Understand the "Provisional" Status

    • Remember, these lists are provisional. Your claim for a reserved category seat is subject to final verification and approval by the competent authorities of the Gujarat government during document verification.

    What's Next?

Merit lists are out. Here's what happens next:

    1. Publication of the Final Seat Matrix: This will show the exact number of seats available in each college, for each course, and for each category.
    2. Choice Filling and Locking: You will be required to log in and select your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority.
    3. Seat Allotment Results: Based on your merit rank and choices, the results for Round 1 will be declared.

    AIQ & State Counselling

Knowing the schedule for the AIQ is crucial to planning for your Gujarat state seat.

The following PDF, issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), outlines how the All India Quota (AIQ) and State Counselling processes are interlinked.

View the Official PDF here for AIQ/ Central State Quota NEET PG 2025 Schedule.

    Key impacts for Gujarat Candidates:

    • Spread out Process: Notice that the AIQ and State counselling rounds happen in a step-by-step manner. This just means you can take part in both branches. If you get a seat in AIQ Round 1, you have to decide whether to accept it or let it go to wait for what could be a better seat in the Gujarat SQ rounds.
    • The Removal Process: The "Sharing of Joined Candidates" dates are critical. When a candidate accepts a seat in one counselling stream (e.g., AIQ), their name is removed from the category for the next rounds in other branches. This means the competition reduces with each subsequent round as more candidates finalize their seats.
    • Plan Your Entire Season: Use this schedule to plan for the next 3-4 months. The process continues into January 2026 with the stray vacancy rounds.

Note: If you are allotted a seat in an early AIQ round, you must report to the college and "join" to save it. This does not necessarily mean you can't upgrade in a later Gujarat state round, but the rules for resignation and withdrawal are strict. Always check the specific guidelines for both MCC and ACPPGMEC before making a decision.

    FAQs

Can non-Gujarat domicile candidates apply for state quota seats?

No. State quota seats are for valid Gujarat domicile holders. Others can apply only for AIQ.

What is the SEBC category in Gujarat?

SEBC = Socially and Educationally Backward Classes; Gujarat’s OBC equivalent with 27% reservation.

Is a bond required after completing PG in Gujarat?

Depends on government orders and seat type. Some government seats may carry mandatory service bonds. Check the current information brochure.

Can I participate in both AIQ and Gujarat state quota counselling?

Yes. You can participate in both; if allotted a seat in one, choose strategically whether to accept.

What happens if I miss document verification deadline?

Your candidature for that round may be cancelled. Follow all deadlines strictly.

    Conclusion

The Merit lists are out, and Counselling moves fast from here. So, you should check the official website every day for the seat matrix and choice-filling dates. Your medical postgraduate future in Gujarat is now one step closer.

Understanding your merit rank is one thing, but changing it into a seat in your desired college is another. The choice-filling round requires a planned-out approach based on the seat matrix and your category rank.

The process can seem difficult at the beginning. Between understanding the seat matrix, filling out your choices smartly, and getting your documents right, there’s a lot to handle.

If you’d rather not go through it alone, our NEET PG counselling team is here to help you make sense of every step and boost your chances of landing the college and course you want.
