The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) – 2026 (NEET UG 2026) is one of the most crucial medical entrance exams in India, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NEET NTA is conducted annually for students who have cleared Class 12 (science).

What is NEET NTA 2026?

What is the Basic Exam Pattern of the NEET UG 2026 exam?
This exam is conducted in offline mode with the help of pen and paper. Students are required to fill in the OMR sheet bubble in order to tick the correct option for the particular question. The examination is 3 hours long.
This exam covers three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology). A total of 180 MCQs are asked in the exam. The exam is of 720 marks. Each correct answer gives +4 marks, and each wrong answer renders a negative penalty of -1 mark.

A) Image and Signature Requirements
While filling out the form, applicants must carefully follow the prescribed image and signature guidelines
A passport-size photograph must be uploaded with a white background. The photograph should have approximately 80% face coverage, with both ears clearly visible. The candidate’s name and the date on which the photograph was taken must be printed on the photo.
A postcard-size photograph of 4" × 6" is also required. This photograph must have a white background.
The scanned signature should be done using black ink on white paper. Candidates must not use capital letters while signing.
Both left-hand and right-hand thumb and finger impressions are mandatory and must be uploaded as per the given instructions.
B) Certificates and academic proofs
While filling out the application form, candidates must upload the required certificates and academic documents.
The most relevant and valid proof is the Class 10 Pass Certificate. Please note that the Class 10 Pass Certificate is mandatory because it has the date of birth mentioned in it.
A valid Category Certificate (SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS) is applicable if the candidate belongs to any of the reserved categories. The certificate must be valid for the 2026–27 academic session.
