    Overview

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has released the official notification for the 2nd Round of Online Counselling for admission into vacant Post Graduate (PG) seats under the Assam State Quota for the 2025 session. This counselling round is conducted as per the Medical Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses) Rules, 2021, including all its amendments.

It is designed to fill seats that remained unallotted after the first round, offering a second chance to eligible NEET-PG 2025 qualifiers. The entire process, from registration to joining, is conducted online via the official DME portal, emphasizing transparency and efficiency. For candidates who participated in Round 1, this is a chance to upgrade or secure a fresh allotment; for new registrants, it is the key entry point into Assam's PG medical programs.

    FAQs

I participated in Round 1. Do I need to register again for Round 2?

No. Your registration from Round 1 remains valid. You only need to log in during the choice-filling period (13th-16th Dec) to participate.

What if I don't lock my choices manually on 16th December?

The system will automatically lock your last saved choices at 11:55 PM on 16th December. However, it is highly recommended to lock them yourself to avoid any last-minute errors or confusion.

Where will the seat vacancy list for Round 2 be published?

The seat matrix detailing vacant seats college-wise and subject-wise will be published on the official website, https://dme.assam.gov.in/, before the choice-filling begins.

I was allotted a seat in Round 1 and joined. Can I participate in Round 2 for an upgrade?

Yes, typically candidates who joined a Round 1 seat are allowed to participate in Round 2 for an upgrade. If you get a new allotment, you must resign from the Round 1 seat and join the new one. Please refer to the official rules or website for specific clauses regarding upgrade and resignation.

What happens after the provisional result on 21st December?

You must download your provisional allotment letter. Then, mandatorily report in person to the allotted college on 26th or 27th December 2025 with all original documents for verification and fee payment to secure your admission.

Is there any third round or mop-up round after this?

The notice specifically announces the 2nd Round. Information about any further rounds (like a mop-up) will be announced separately on the DME website if seats remain vacant.

Who should I contact for technical issues during registration or choice filling?

The notice does not specify a contact. Keep checking the official website's "Help" or "Contact Us" section for any helpline numbers or support emails released by the DME for counselling-related queries.
