Government Medical College, commonly referred to as GMC Amritsar was founded in Year 1864 and is one of the earliest medical colleges established by Government of India (GoI), amongst the highly ranked & respected Government Medical Institution in India. Initially it began its operation as a School of Medicine but has since gained official recognition from BFUHS and as an officially recognised Medical College by GoI.
